A combination of two organizations R.E.D. Alliance and Pink-4-Ever, Inc., Pink-4-Ever Ending Disparities drew from previous experiences, dedicating all efforts now to advocacy and supporting women from screening through diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.

ADVOCACY

• Breast Health Advocate Initiative – training women to serve as advocates within the community, providing breast health information, support and connections to resources for women undergoing diagnostic tests and treatment

• Junior Ambassadors Initiative – mentoring and leadership skills development for high school and college students, focusing on self-advocacy and promoting healthy lifestyle choices among their peers

EDUCATION

• Stay Alert, Stay Alive Breast Health Summit – two-day conference bringing together patients, caregivers, researchers, health providers to share latest on clinical trials, research

• Faith-Based Initiative – partnering with predominantly Black church congregations to address the breast health needs of their members through breast health advocate support and hosting Pink Sundays and other breast health educational events

• Community Outreach & Education – providing information and education workshops at schools, businesses, health fairs and other community events

RESEARCH

• Trailblazer Award Study - partnering with researchers from the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering at Purdue University to study disparities in breast cancer mortality rates for Black women, specifically examining differences in the processes of Black and white women in Indianapolis as they seek and receive breast cancer diagnosis and treatment services

• Precision Health Initiative Partnership - collaborating with Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Simon Cancer Center researchers to identify why Black women with breast cancer are experiencing poorer health outcomes, to encourage more Black women to participate in research and clinical trials and to develop better health care, treatment and prevention strategies for Black women

EMPOWERMENT

• Screening Mammography Assistance – facilitating free screening mammograms for uninsured women or women facing other barriers to accessing free or low-cost screening services

• Nadine Whitlock Hayes Legacy Fund – providing financial assistance to women in treatment and help with the cost of genetic counseling and testing

• S.I.S. (Sisters Inspired to Stand) – a support and empowerment group for breast cancer survivors and caregivers

• Power Trip – granting patients and their families much needed vacation and respite care

• God’s Pharmacy - our farmer’s market style exhibit through which we encourage women to reduce their breast cancer risk and improve the overall health and wellness of their families by eating fruits, vegetables and other natural food products from God’s creation
