JUNIOR AMBASSADORS
JUNIOR AMBASSADOR INITIATIVE
The Pink-4-Ever, Inc. (P4E) Junior Ambassadors Initiative is designed to utilize enthusiastic, knowledgeable and motivated P4E advocates to positively promote the organization. Ambassadors assist in initiative recruitment and represent P4E at various functions in their schools and communities. As the faces of P4E, Junior Ambassadors agree to support the organization’s mission and fulfill P4E’s values and principles by adhering to all standards presented in the Student Ambassador Handbook. These young P4E advocates assist in keeping P4E exemplary, by helping to identify opportunities to engage with youth and community.

“I personally have many connections to breast cancer because it runs in my family, multiple family members have had it. My mom is the closest person to me that has had breast cancer. When I was two years old my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now that I am fifteen, I understand why cancer is such a big deal now; I understand the severity of the disease and how it is not an easy thing. I want more people in the community to more about breast cancer in general, how it affects men and women, especially African American women.”

If there were anything I would change about my community, it would be to clean up all the litter to create a better environment.”

“I am interested in advocating for health care and educating others about certain health issues and how to reduce the risk for being affected by any illness, especially if it is hereditary. I am also interested in learning more about breast cancer and informing the community about how to reduce the risk for getting any kind of cancer. Along with educating myself and others, I love how P4E Inc. creates a support system. All illnesses have many psychological effects on people, so it is important to create a space where people can vent, get advice, and know that there are people rooting for and fighting with them. My career goal is to become an OB/GYN where I will work to reduce the infant mortality rate which is highest for African American babies.”

“I would like to be a P4E Jr. Ambassador because knowing people that have dealt with breast cancer causes me to want to share awareness about the topic and get people informed. This organization holds a special place in my heart due to this fact. When you can help someone become more informed about what is going on in their body and other bodies in general you can in-turn help save a life. When it comes to spreading awareness, this can be done in a couple different ways. From hosting events around campus to just setting up a booth in the Atrium and sitting there for a couple hours engaging with people as they pass by.”

“Alexis has seen up close and person the toll breast cancer takes on the lives of individuals and their families, while losing an aunt and watching another fight and survive the disease she refers to as a ‘beast.’ She wants to be a part of the solution by educating and empowering others to have courage to stand and fight for a cure.”
