Annual Report

2009 Annual Report
Mission:
To reduce breast cancer disparities in the minority community through empowerment, education and support while providing access to clinical screening services to all individuals affected by breast cancer.

Executive Director’s Report from Nadia E. Miller
We envision a future where breast cancer is no longer a threat. We aim our efforts to see that early detection will decrease cancer related deaths.  We’re creating a movement among the minority community to dispel myths about breast cancer and to create and environment where it’s okay to ask questions and receive information about health concerns.

Currently access to and utilization of early detection and treatment and differences in tumor characteristics contribute to higher death rates in minorities. To address this issue, we are providing outreach that discusses risk factors, signs and symptoms, dispels myths to increase awareness and offer general knowledge of breast health.

Educating individuals on life saving information and being an arm of support to individuals at a time when support could mean the difference between life and death is an immensely rewarding endeavor made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and the generous support of our donors!

Report from the President, John M. Miller, MBA.
When I founded Pink-4-Ever, Inc in 2008, I envisioned a world class outreach organization that would serve individuals affected and impacted by breast cancer.  It has been a long and exciting journey and my dreams for what the organization could accomplish have become more real within this last year.  Our hard work and efforts over the past year have been rewarded in many different ways, most importantly with the service to our community.

Since inception in 2008, Pink-4-Ever has actively and successfully developed a grass roots approach to providing breast health awareness, support, education, and outreach. Through such programs as 4-Ever Sundays and Basics of Breast Cancer, Pink-4-Ever has reached more than 5,000 individuals. We have partnered with several community agencies, churches and health clinics.

Through it all, we have enjoyed our work; educating individuals with life saving information brings an inner peace that is hard to describe.  It keeps us all humble and inspires us and we are honored to help.

Our successes demonstrate that we have a clear vision of the future, sufficient determination and entrepreneurial spirit to convert that vision to reality and a terrific Board of Directors.  Our talented volunteers are dedicated to our mission to “reducing breast cancer disparities in the minority community through empowerment, education and support while providing access to clinical screening services to all individuals affected by breast cancer”.  We are looking forward to continuing to serve people by easing their suffering and changing their lives for the better in the years to come.
