Courtney Brookins recently accepted the Executive Coordinator position with Pink-4-Ever, Inc. In this role, she has found that her love for serving is not only a benefit; but, a necessity for the organization and the demographic it serves. In May 2016, Courtney will graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs, with a Non-Profit Management concentration, from IUPUI. An educational background in non-profit management will be beneficial in this position; and, she is excited to learn first-hand and gain on the job experience, as she works with Pink's Board of Directors.
Like so many others in the Indianapolis community, Courtney's life has been touched by the effects of cancer. Serving at Pink-4-Ever, and knowing that she can help make a difference in the lives of such a diverse population, only adds to her desire to give her finest to the organization.
So far, Courtney has had the opportunity to work alongside the organization's Executive Director, Nadia Miller, learning organizational details. She has worked with St. Francis on the screening assistance program, as well as helping with the logistics planning for the annual Simply Pink Fashion Show. Witnessing the compassion and seriousness, with which the Board moves to support their own community, has increased Courtney's motivation to speak about the cause and the organization whenever she gets the chance.
